Italian cuisine
Vegan Italian food in Antwerp
In short: traditional Italian cooking is far more plant-based than you might think: tomatoes, vegetables, pulses, herbs and olive oil play the leading roles. Benoti's menu has four vegan dishes, from starter to pinsa.
Plant-based in the Italian tradition
Many classics are naturally vegan or nearly so: pasta e fagioli (pasta with beans), aglio, olio e peperoncino, tomato bruschetta, grilled vegetables and minestrone. Italy's cucina povera, the cooking of ordinary people, turned a few ingredients into something delicious.
